why cant we mix veg and non veg in biryani

PRAWNS AND VEGETABLE BIRYANI
INGREDIENTS:
Prawns – 1/2 kg
Peas – 250 gms
Carrot – 50 gms
Beans – 100 gms
Onion – 250 gms, sliced
Green Chillies – 10, slit
Tomato – 1, chop
Lemon – 1
Salt as per taste
Red Chilli Powder – 2 tsp
Basmati Rice – 500 gms, washed
Ginger – 20 gms
Ghee – 100 ml
Garlic – 12 flakes
Cinnamon – 2
Cardamom – 3
Cloves – 3
Coriander Leaves – 1/2 bunch
Mint Leaves – 1 bunch
METHOD:
1. Fry the washed rice in ghee for 10 minutes and keep
aside.
2. Grind the ginger and garlic to a paste.
3. Clean and boil the prawns in a pan with salt and chilli
powder.
4. Fry the boiled prawns in ghee till it becomes reddish
5. Boil all the vegetables with a pinch of salt and keep
aside.
6. Cook the basmati rice with 1 1/2 litres of water.
7. Remove from heat after the rice is partly cooked and
drain the water.
8. Heat ghee in a pan.
9. Fry the spices, onion, green chillies, ginger garlic
paste, tomato, boiled vegetables, fried prawns and rice.
10. Add lemon juice, coriander leaves and salt.
11. Mix well and cover with a lid.
12. Dum cook it for 25 to 30 minutes.
13. Remove, mix well and serve hot.
